THE FOXLOW STORY

Foxlow is a small group of restaurants created by the friends who founded Hawksmoor and some of the many like-minded people we’ve met along the way. Inspired by the kind of neighbourhood restaurant we’d love to have around the corner, the menu revolves around the best seasonal produce from British farmers and fishermen, with occasional indulgences as well as super-healthy everyday fare.

Most importantly to us is that Foxlow should be a nice place to while away a few hours and get looked after by people who love what they do.  Steak and red wine with friends, a lazy (and boozy) brunch, Sunday roast with all the family, a first (or 151st) date or a quick midweek lunch.

OUR FOOD & DRINK

The freshest produce from the best of British farmers and fishermen. Steaks from grass-fed cattle reared on small farms, fried and roast chicken from the award-winning Castlemead Farm, simply grilled South Coast fish and seafood, along with plenty of seasonal salads, sides and puddings. Come along for a leisurely brunch, Sunday roast, or try our Shortrib Wednesdays

A good drink is also important. As well as our favourite wines from around the world there’s a regularly changing list of seasonal cocktails and craft beer from London’s best microbreweries.

SUSTAINABILITY

We try to do things the right way at Foxlow – not because it’s trendy and cool or because we’re natural born tree-huggers, but because it feels like the right thing to do and inevitably makes for tastier food.

We source as many of our ingredients as possible from the UK, from our meat and fish to bread and sugar, reducing our air miles and minimising our impact on the environment. Direct trade coffee is from the most ethical roasters we’ve found and free-range milk is courtesy of the beautiful Guernseys roaming Bickfield Farm in Somerset. Members of the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) we have held the maximum 3 star rating from the beginning and work hard to improve across the three SRA pillars of Sourcing, Society and Environment.

There’s a host of other dull (but important) things we do to try to help the planet (composting food leftovers to provide energy for the National Grid, recycling almost all of our waste, introducing LED lighting and the likes), but we’re not quite Smashy and Nicey enough to make a big deal of them.



COMMUNITY

Magic Breakfast

Too many school children, including many near our restaurants go to school hungry. No child’s education should suffer for the lack of a breakfast. Since the beginning of 2016 we’ve worked closely with Magic Breakfast, raising money and awareness for a charity that is hugely important to us.

As well as filling you with pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, we pitch up at Hackney Village Fayre and volunteer at the annual Magic Breakfast Christmas Carol Concert.  By adding an optional 22p to every Foxlow bill (the cost to feed a child) we raised over £15,000 in 2016 alone, helping the charity to provide breakfast to thousands of children.

The One Foundation

The One Brand is a UK social enterprise donating 100% of profits to funding life changing water projects in Africa. In 2013 we collaborated with them to design the unique ‘Butterfly Bottles’ which are now sold in several restaurants across the country including ours. To date they have helped to raise over £12 million, transforming the lives of three million people in the world’s poorest communities.
